While we have been working closely with Google Cloud customers for years already, this specific badge represents something much deeper than just a listing. It is the culmination of a long, extensive vetting process and a validation of our platform by GCP!

Validation at a Deeper Level

Becoming a BigQuery Partner isn’t just a box-ticking exercise. It requires passing rigorous technical validation to ensure that our solution integrates seamlessly with the BigQuery ecosystem. For a good while already, we have been transacting a significant volume through the GCP Marketplace. But this new designation validates our product architecture, our security posture, and our value proposition on a different scale. It confirms what our customers already know: Alvin isn’t just a tool; it is an enterprise-ready platform built to put BigQuery FinOps on autopilot.

From Startup to Enterprise-Ready

Over the last few years, our team has been cracking hard to build a platform that meets the strict demands of enterprise environments. We built Alvin to be robust, secure, and reliable:

• Security First: We have achieved SOC 2 Type II attestation for many years already and designed our platform to operate with metadata-only access, ensuring we never store or process underlying customer data. Customers can also self-host critical components, ensuring that the data plane stays fully within their environment.
• Reliability: All customers run in single-tenant environments. We built our service and infrastructure in Rust for high performance, ensuring we add negligible latency to your queries. At the current time, we successfully optimized >100M queries on behalf of our customers…
• Zero-Code Integration: We ensured that setup takes just minutes with no code changes required, whether you use Looker, dbt, or Python. This partnership with Google Cloud is a testament to that engineering discipline.
• Streamlined sales process and onboarding. We have honed a clean 2-step process that consists of first doing a savings estimate and then proceeding into an integration and POC phase if the numbers make sense to all parties. This fully aligns incentives and gives stakeholders strong, data-driven arguments for pushing Alvin internally through all the hoops of legal, DevSecOps and getting priority from Engineering where needed.

A Strong Ecosystem

This milestone also strengthens our position within our partner and reseller ecosystem. We are seeing incredible momentum with our partners who are helping their clients navigate the complexities of BigQuery pricing — from slot commitments to on-demand vs capacity, to reducing BigQuery autoscaler overhead. This designation gives our ecosystem even more confidence to bring Alvin’s automated optimization to the wider market.
